This post follows the posts I’ve written about Richard DeKorn’s step-daughter Marge and her son David Owens. See links below.
I thought I would share some photos of beautiful objects made by Marge and David, two very creative individuals. Thanks to Rochelle Owens for sharing these photographs.
Marge knitted the Christmas stocking (look at those small stitches), and she also made the agate necklace.
This mosaic was designed and made by David Owens.

I never cease to be amazed by human creativity. The items you showed are wonderful examples.
Thanks, WJ. I agree. Just beautiful.
Oooh, having learned to knit at my Great Aunt’s knee, I so appreciate that stocking, just gorgeous! Love the other things as well, but have no experience in those medias, so haven’t quite the appreciation for their creation. But they’re all beautiful works of art. Thanks for sharing. Makes me want to do a mosaic!
I used to knit when I was younger, but there was no way I ever rose to the level of that stocking. It’s just gorgeous. Also, I love mosaics and jewelry. Just my cuppa :). If you do a mosaic I want to see it on your blog!
I love the mosaic! What a talented family.
Yes, they were very talented! I love mosaics. My husband got started on them years ago and then just stopped. I think his eyes aren’t good enough? Or maybe his patience ;).
Beautiful! Lovely handmade artifacts provide such a wonderful sense of what a person was like–and are a wonderful way to remember them.
I agree. These really makes Marge and David more vivid in my mind than all the family history research that can be done.
I have friends who are creative like this, and I’ve always coveted the artistic gifts!! These are lovely…
Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to create objects like this to give to friends and to decorate your own home? So beautiful.
Beautiful items! 🙂
Linda, yes, they are so beautiful! Thanks for stopping by.
The mosaic takes me right into a path leading to a private garden. Very creative use of the small pebbles.
I agree. It’s so well done. Just beautiful. I’m so grateful that Rachelle shared these with us.
These are beautiful. What wonderful craftsmanship!
Thanks, Su. I know–really makes me wish I could do something like this!
🙂 I know what you mean. I’ve seen some of the beautiful embroidery my great grandmother did and all I can think is wow!!
OH, I love old embroidery!
